Clinical Pilates is a goal-oriented rehabilitation program for issues within the scope of physiotherapy and can be adapted to every individual based on their specific needs and level of ability.
The principles and benefits are universal! A body that’s evenly balanced and conditioned allows for greater body awareness, performance, and injury prevention. Exercises within the Pilates repertoire challenge the body and mind to work together. This isn’t always easy, but it most definitely can be fun!
Exercises within the Clinical Pilates setting is often used in conjunction with physiotherapy as a means of treating a variety of injuries, as many of the basic principles of Pilates align with what research suggests to be an integral part of improving various health conditions including chronic low back pain, osteoarthritis, neurological conditions, sports injuries, and more.
Booking a Pilates Session
Before we start your clinical Pilates sessions, we start with a 60-minute physiotherapy assessment to identify the areas that need to be addressed — whether that’s an injury or to improve your overall mobility. Then, we develop a Pilates program tailored to your specific needs. You’ll be oriented to the Pilates reformer and provided with some basic Pilates principles during this appointment.
45-MINUTE CLINICAL PILATES SESSION
These Pilates sessions focus on Pilates exercises using the reformer that is aimed to help you achieve specific wellness goals. A 45-minute session is recommended for those with multiple areas of concern or multiple goals. You will also be provided with home exercises so you can continue your treatment plan and Pilates exercises outside of our clinic!
